Soundscape studies and acoustic ecology are of great interest to me as an artist. These two areas of inquiry encourage us to be better listeners and develop greater awareness of the sound that surrounds us and penetrates our being. Knowledge of soundscapes can push us to take responsibility for the sound that we create and the sounds that we often find ourselves having to tolerate. My hope is to not only document soundscapes (which can be found in this section), but to also eventually integrate soundscapes and natural sounds into my artwork. Below I have also posted a brief introductory article to soundscape studies and acoustic ecology for those who may not be familiar with these subjects.
